The Fillmore County Ag. Society is recognizing individuals for being an Outstanding Citizen in Fillmore County.
The Fillmore County Ag Society is recognizing individuals for being an outstanding citizen and Fillmore.
Recipients include those individuals who volunteer in their communities or at the Fillmore County fair.
Volunteering can be represented by working with youth agriculture, education or community based events.
We had 13 nominations this year the recipients were chosen by a panel of Fairboard business and community members.

Wednesday, July 23rd, at the Fillmore County fair is Phil Durst Day.
Phil is a retired teacher. He taught for 31 years teaching shop and fourth grade. During his summers, he would come down and work at the fair and help get set up for fair week. He was a judge for many years in the woodworking project. He also helped in the open class woodworking area. Phil recently retired as an open class superintendent. Thank you Phil for being an outstanding citizen. We appreciate you!

Thursday, July 24th, at the Fillmore County Fair is Kay Ristau Day.
Kay was a 4-H leader for many years and also helped with the non-livestock projects. Kay also has been a multi year volunteer in the food stand every morning at the county fair. She also volunteers with the Fillmore County unit of the Salvation Army and with the St. Columban Catholic Church as a group leader. Kay is also the Vice President for the Carimona Cemetery Board. Thank you Kay for being an outstanding citizen. We appreciate you!

Friday, July 25th, at the Fillmore County Fair is Judy Frank Day.
Judy’s primary place of volunteering is the 4-H program. Judy volunteers with the non-livestock projects. She also helps with the 4-H Fashion Review and Favorite Food Show. Judy is also a volunteer at her church. Judy ushers and is a member of the altar guild. Judy helps serve lunch at funerals and is always willing to lend a helping hand when asked. Thank you for being an Outstanding Citizen! We appreciate you!

Saturday, July 26th, at the Fillmore County Fair is Randy Haakenson Day.
Randy is always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. He supports youth programming and is always willing to lend a hand on the fairgrounds. He also is willing to go the extra mile and help out on short notice! Thank you, Randy for all that you do for so many and for being an Outstanding Citizen! We appreciate you!

The Fillmore County Ag. Society recognizes an outstanding youth who has shown active involvement and leadership with the Fillmore County Fair Board.
This year, we are recognizing one individual who has demonstrated these qualities.
Sarah Schriever has assisted the Fillmore County Fair Board with our Wednesday work nights. She has gone above and beyond assisting the fair board with fair preparations. Sarah has been a mentor to younger youth on our fair board work nights.
