JACKPOT Sheep Show

Saturday, July 23

Weigh-In 5:30 p.m. – Show 7:30 p.m.

  1. No aged ewes or bucks will be shown
  2. No other rules – just common sense
  • Class 1 – Ewe Lambs
  • Class 2 – Market Lambs

$4/goat (100% payback)

OPEN MEAT GOAT SHOW

Saturday, July 23

Weigh-In 4:30 p.m. – Show 6 p.m.

  1. This is an open meat goat show. Meat goats may be any breed or cross, registered or unregistered.
  2. Bucks will not be shown.
  3. All animals will be subject to veterinary inspection prior to show.
  4. A certificate of vet inspection or interstate health certificate that includes Scrapie premise ID nunber from your state shall accompany all out of state animals.
  5. MN animals are to be in compliance with the state of MN Board of Animal Health Scrapies ID program.
  6. Age requirements: Junior Kid (born March 1, 2022 or after) Senior Doe (born Dec. 1, 2021 – Feb. 28, 2022
  7. Market Show (Market Goats born on or after December 1, 2021)
  8. No pens will be assigned, trailer show.
  9. Market Goats will be split by weight (does can be shown in doe or market class, or both)
  10. Judge or superintendent may split lots as necessary
  11. All animals should be fitted to show, including clean ears, nose, tail and around the mouth.
  12. Full blood, percentage, commercial does all shown together.
  13. Exhibitors stalling in big barn must stay until 8:00am Sunday, July 24.
  14. Those showing from trailers are free to go after show.

Rules & Regulations

  1. Open to everyone, of all ages (Children under 5 years must be assisted by guardian/older youth)
  2. Purebred gilts will show by age
  3. Original registration papers required at check-in
  4. Crossbred gilts will show by weight
  5. Gilts must be born on or after January 1st, 2022
  6. Barrows and market gilts will show together
  7. Crossbred gilts, barrows and market gilts will show by declared weight
  8. Minimum of 3 head to make individual class for breed shows
  9. Breeds less than 3 head will be placed into an AOB division
  10. Showmanship will be broken into age divisions (Later determined when entries are in)
  11. Show check-in will be at 7:00 am-8:30 am Saturday, July 23rd, with the show to start at 9:00 am
  12. Fillmore County Swine Committee reserves the right to decline any entries
  13. Fillmore County Swine Committee reserves the right to edit or modify rules as necessary
  14. Health requirements- Health papers for all out-of-state entries are required
  15. Stalling in the barn will be available, bedding is not provided
  16. Exhibitors stalling in the barn must stay until 8:00 am on Sunday, July 24th

    Same calf may be shown by a different exhibitor.
  • Junior and Reserve Junior Champion
  • Premiums for Classes 1-7: $10, $8, $6.
  • Premiums for Classes 10-15: $12, $10, $8, $6, $5, $4, $3.
  • In colored breeds- if three or less animals- classes will be combined.
  • Ribbons will be awarded for first through third place in all classes. Jr. Supreme and Sr. Supreme Champions will be chosen with awards given. Holstein Ring and Colored Breed Ring.
  • Classes will be shown in order as listed above.
  • (Non-Refundable entry fee โ€“ $7 per head due with the entry form by July 1, 2022). Any entries received after this date will be charged $8.
  • Substitutes accepted for entered animals only.
  • Non-refundable entry fee of $7 per head due by calling or mailing info to Stacy Leiding, 27097 Co. 11, Fountain, MN 55935; 507-272-2718.
  • Exhibitors need not be members of an association to be eligible to show.
  • Incoming animals will be housed on a first come basis in large barn.

Health Requirements
Livestock known by the exhibitor to have an infectious, communicable disease or to have been exposed to an infectious, communicable disease, or to be from a quarantined herd or flock may not be entered in the exhibition. Warts and ringworm are considered communicable diseases. Therefore, livestock affected by these diseases cannot be exhibited. A statement from a veterinarian that an animal is being treated for these diseases is not acceptable. All livestock may be inspected by the Official Veterinarian on the opening day of the exhibition, and daily during the exhibition. The Official Veterinarian will order the immediate removal to a quarantine facility or removal from the exhibition premises of any livestock with symptoms of infectious or communicable diseases. Animals placed in a quarantine facility must remain there until removed from the exhibition premises. They may not enter a show ring. This includes livestock with warts or ringworm. All testing must be conducted prior to the exhibition, and a record of the test results on a test chart or Intrastate Certificate of Veterinary Inspection must accompany the tested animals. No out of state cattle allowed.

OPEN BEEF SHOW

Saturday, July 23

12:00 p.m. Start

  1. Open to anyone (Special award for top placing FFA animal in each division)
  2. Original registration papers are required at check-in
  3. Breeding Heifers will be split by age
  4. Heifers must be born on or after September 1, 2020
  5. Cow Calf entries will show all together
  6. Individual shows for: (min of 5 head for breed show), Market Heifers, Beef Steers, Dairy Steers & Breeding Heifers
  7. Steers will be split by breed (min 5 head), then by weight. Exhibitors must provide proof of breed eligibility, market heifers determined by weight
  8. No pumping of animals allowed – violation of this rule will result in disqualification
  9. Cattle must be checked in from 8-11am.
  10. Release time is at conclusion of show
  11. Fillmore County Fair Beef Show Committee reserves the right to reject any entries
  12. Health Requirements – Health papers from animals originating outside of MN will be required. All cattle are subject to an examination by the on-site veterinarian.
  13. GENERATORS RECOMMENDED!
  14. Fillmore County Beef Show Committee reserves the right to change or modify rules as deemed necessary.
  15. Health Papers required for out of state cattle.
  16. Junior cattle will be eligible for North Star Points Series points.
  17. Heifers will be shown by breed and age.
  18. Steers shown by breed and declared weight.
  19. Showmanship in the following divisions: Senior, Intermediate, Junior and PeeWee.
